Breakfast nook / Kitchen by Shapira Builders
A developer hired me to Design and build kitchen and breakfast nook in his Manhattan apartment.
This work was done entirely on the job site.
The kitchen cabinets were made with White Formica laminated over Birch plywood.
The floating oak table top at the breakfast nook is sitting on two ‘L’ shape heavy steal brackets, one side of the brackets are lagged to the wall studs and drywall covers over it.
The two seats were made from oak planks glued together like butcher block.
The single seat has only one leg, two sides are embedded in the walls.
The double seat in the back has no legs, one side is embedded in the wall and the other side is embedded into the cabinet.
The cutting board was made of rock maple and can be pulled all the way out and be washed at the sink.
In Manhattan every square inch counts.
LOVE your creativity 🙂
Sweet project! I like the clean lines and utilitarian aspects of this project. Right on!
What a great use of a small space! Nice job. Very creative.
Wow, that's a beautiful breakfast nook!
That is nice. I always hate those little corners that end up becoming home to something you never use. this is a much better use of space.
Good idea to have the cutting board be able to come out to wash. Very nifty!
That's some great creative work! A great way to save space and looks so chic 🙂
What a clever way to make limited space aesthetically efficient. Nice job!
