Upgrading my own kitchen

Upgraded kitchen

New and old

Removing old cabinets doors and drawer fronts

Making new doors and drawer fronts from 3/4″ MDF sheet, edging each door with iron on woos veneer .

Painting the doors and the face frame. Drilling the doors with 35 mm Forstner  bit for self closing european hinges.

New: granite, sink and faucet

I had two option about addressing the wall above the granite wall, paint or tile, then I was thinking about reclaimed wood.

The idea of having dirty wood in my was rejected. So, I got fencing red wood from Home Depot.

The pile of wood was very low grade of red wood and that was perfect for me.

I ripped the wood planks to strips and installed them as you see.

Fruit and veggies box

From the same red wood I built a box for fruit and veggies. Red wood as you know, resist bugs, fungus and bacteria.

Paper towel

Installing paper towel holder

Double pantry

Building double pantry with sliding frosted glass doors, shelves and LED rope lighting.

The floor tiles are all new.

Beyond the kitchen you can see the living room, I removed the wall that was dividing the two rooms.

New stainless appliances

I added more wood slats above cabinets with LED  rope lights and fake plants.

Replaced old appliances with new/used stainless appliances.

New dining table
