Replacing a swing door with a pocket door
Replacing a swing door with a pocket door
My client Frank found my business on Google Search.
He checked out my website and called me.
Frank wanted to remodel the master bathroom for an handicapped person.
Part of it was, creating wider opening.
The original door was twenty eight inched wide and he wonted it to be thirty two inches wide.
He also wanted the new door to slide into the wall, also known as ‘pocket door’
Frank ordered the door from Home Dept and the pocket door kit from Johnson Hardware.
He ordered a solid core door.
The Johnson hardware can hold up to 400 pounds.
Job description:
1) Removal of the original door and frame, open the wall on one side and remove the wood studs.
2) Assemble of pocket door kit and install it in the wall.
3) Install the hardware on the door and hang the door.
4) Install drywall, and trim around the opening.
Frank gave the mud work and painting to another contractor.
My job was competed in one day. It came out just right.

I love these pocket doors. The solid door is not only a better looking door than hollow core but just feel nicer when you open them. Great work Dov Shapira.

You always have such great solutions. I hear it's really hard to hang doors.
