Crown Molding

CROWN MOLDING

Crown molding ties the walls to the ceiling.
It adds beauty and elegance.
The room feels more cozy and homey.

Installing CROWN MOLDING requires knowledge, the right tools and lots of patience.
You can do just fine with a miter compound saw.
A compound saw can cut in an angel plus you can tilt the blade for a bevel cut.
Compound miter saws have marks that indicates the right angels for crown molding.
Imagine the outside corner is slightly off 90*
The wall is not all that strait and ceiling always have waives.
Inside corners are a little easier with a compound miter saw.

To make a real good and tight inside corner you have to use a coping hand saw.
That is a technique by itself.

Curved walls make it more difficult for installation.

You can make a lot of small cuts and install piece by piece,
Or you can order a pre-fabricated molding that is made from a rubber like material.
The manufacture will ask you for the radius, length and a sample of the molding.
Crown moldings come in different shapes, size and materials.
