Soss Hinges for doors and windows.
Soss Hinges for doors and windows.
Soss hingers were designed by Joseph Soss to be invisible / concealed.
In the pictures you can see my own work using Soss hinges.
A custom window was built from scratch using solid clear pine, frosted safety glass and Soss hinges.
The door is solid core, separating between a hallway and a living room.
The idea of my client was to make the door as little noticeable as possible .
I beveled the door jamb and used Paper tape, glue and drywall mud to hide the gap between the jamb and the wall and create one solid looking wall without any need to install moldings.
The Soss hinges are anchored in a deep, full mortise, it can hold a 500-pound door
Baseboard was installed along the bottom of the door to create the illusion as if there is no door there.
Mr. Joseph Soss was a Romanian Jew who fled Romania after the Romanian government deprived the Jews of citizenship in the late 1900 in anti-Semitic constitution. Mr. Soss migrated to Montreal Canada, later he moved to the US and started a brilliant career .

These are a designer's best friend. We love a clean look. It's needs to be functional but I don't need to see how! Thanks for sharing
We just remodeled our new location and wish we had known about these. I really like the look and how much weight they can hold.
That is one heavy door this can hold. Perfect for those antique doors I see at Old Home Supply.
I have never seen these before. I really like them and will keep in mind when we start our remodel.
You have me watching DIY shows in a different light now. You seem to use very high quality products.
Can I just hire you to come and make my house look fabulous?
I love that they can be hidden a bit more I think that is always a plus side. x
This is the first time I hear about such hinges. I'm hoping to be a home owner something next year! Thanks for the tip!.

I live in an apartment so can not change doors–but I do like the look when hinges on doors can not be seen.
I love those hinges. I personally don't like hinges you can see but all of ours are like that. I would love some of these. It does make the decor look so much better.
Those hinges are awesome! I haven't seen hinges like that before. I like how heavy duty they are!
